Thomson explains that Jesus only occasionally felt the need to withdraw into solitude. Let us briefly consider one event and ask what motivated Him: In Matthew 14, after the feeding of the five thousand, Jesus desired to pray and went up on a mountain by Himself to pray. Soon afterward, He saw His disciples struggling against the waves on the sea and went to them.  At that moment, rescuing them was more important than remaining in quiet prayer. 2. Every Time of Rest Is Followed by God's Calling People sought the One who helped them and wanted to keep Him with them. They wanted Him to stay. Stille Zeit kann nicht von Dauer und Ort bestimmt werden Jedoch sind die Art und der Zweck der stillen Zeit von großer Bedeutung.  Thomson erklärt, dass Jesus nur ab und zu das Verlangen hatte sich zurückzuziehen.  Lasst uns kurz eine Begebenheit beachten und nach ihrem Beweggrund fragen: In Matthäus 14 hat Jesus nach dem Speisungswunder das Verlangen zu beten und geht  allein auf einen Berg, um zu beten. Dann sieht er schon wieder seine Jünger auf dem  Meer mit den Wellen kämpfen und geht zu ihnen. Rettung ist jetzt wichtiger als stille  Zeit! 2. Nach jeder Ruhepause folgt der Auftrag Gottes Man sucht den Helfer, will ihn festhalten. Er soll bei ihnen bleiben.
