Deutsch English David was the youngest of Jesse's 8 sons and came from Bethlehem. He was the great-grandson of Boaz and the Moabite Ruth. His grandfather was named Obed. (According to 1 Chronicles 2:13-16) David was beautiful, strong, eloquent, and could play stringed instruments. As a shepherd of Jesse's sheep, he showed himself to be brave and reliable. In the presence of his father and brothers, he was anointed by the prophet Samuel as Saul's successor to become king. (According to 1 Samuel 16:1-13) 1. Deutsch English David war der Jüngste der 8 Söhne Isais und stammt aus Bethlehem. Er war der Urenkel von Boas und der Moabiterin Ruth. Sein Großvater hieß Obed. (Nach 1.Chronik 2,13-16) David war schön, kraftvoll, redegewandt und konnte Saiteninstrumente spielen. Als Hirte der Schafe Isais, zeigte er sich mutig und zuverlässig.
