David's biography
Deutsch English David was the youngest of Jesse's 8 sons and came from Bethlehem. He was the great-grandson of Boaz and the Moabite Ruth. His grandfather was named Obed. (According to 1 Chronicles 2:13-16) David was beautiful, strong, eloquent, and could play stringed instruments. As a shepherd of Jesse's sheep, he showed himself to be brave and reliable. In the presence of his father and brothers, he was anointed by the prophet Samuel as Saul's successor to become king. (According to 1 Samuel 16:1-13) 1.
