Highly Valued
Because you are so highly valued in my eyes... and because I love you... So do not fear, for I am with you. (Isaiah 43:4a-5a).
These are encouraging words from God for young and old alike! In them, we find love, comfort, understanding, and encouragement from a loving and ever-present God.
1. How valuable are we?
The word valuable generally means that something has a high worth. In the Bible, it is repeatedly emphasized that every person is infinitely valuable in God's eyes.
Jesus, the Son of God, paid a high price on the cross to redeem us. Are we aware that we are highly valued in God's eyes?
2. God's love is limitless
God does not see us as part of the crowd, but as a unique, beloved child.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3,16 (ESV)
3. Do not be afraid!
According to Isaiah 41:10, strength is promised to the weak. Do not be afraid, for I am your God! I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will protect you with my victorious hand.”
But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Matthew 10:30-31 (ESV)
This shows: we are not here by chance. God knows everything about us—and loves us anyway.
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 1.John 3:1 (ESV)
These scriptures illustrate that our work depends not on our performance in God's eyes, but on His love and grace, which He has shown us through Jesus Christ.
4. We experience comfort, understanding, and love
Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand.
Do we perhaps think that we have been abandoned by people, set aside, or are frail, helpless, worn out, weak, or sick?
Yet into this speaks God Almighty:
You are esteemed in my eyes, I love you, do not fear, I am with you! Incomprehensible to our understanding, but true!

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:23+26 (ESV).
This certainty that He is present gives us support and confidence in the most difficult life circumstances. We can trust Him completely; He understands us and loves us.

We ask you, our Lord, from the bottom of our hearts for one thing: May your grace, your love always be with us. Keep your hands protectively over us, for we are yours. Every day, whatever may come, we are always safe in you. Every day, whatever may come, you will lovingly take care of us. Song: Klaus Heizmann
