Carried on eagle's wings
1. Flight of the Eagle
God needs the flight of the eagle as a symbol of swiftness and security for how his people Israel were freed from bondage. Israel had already been in the desert for three months. God alone provided his people with the necessities of life. Now God called Moses to the mountain and commanded him to remind Israel of what he had done for his people.

2. The Lord said to Moses: You have seen
Israel had seen all the great deeds of God and even sung about them.
After Exodus 15
Israel should not forget the wonders of God:
- the passage through the Red Sea
- the water of the Nile turned into blood
- three days there was darkness
- fire and hail destroyed the fields
- the enemies drowned in the Red Sea
3. Shall we marvel at the path of divine liberation?
The sublime lies in the flight of the eagle.
What is it supposed to teach us? The eagle is one of the greatest among the birds. It does not fly from tree to tree, but majestically in the air. Thus God hovers over his people.
Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, that flutters over its young, spreading out its wings, catching them, bearing them on its pinions, the LORD alone guided him, no foreign god was with him. Deuteronomy 32:11-12 (ESV)
A picture of care and security. The same applies today; we may trust God. When we get into trouble, we approach God the Almighty. He comes to us and helps us.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Psalm 32:8 (ESV)
4. Arrive at the destination
And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. Luke 22:15 (ESV)

Jesus asks His Father:
Father, I want all those you have given me to be with me where I am. They shall see my glory, which you have given me. For you have loved me long before the world was created.
5. How do we obtain the promised blessing?
- Hear God's voice regularly
- Read God's Word and then act accordingly
- Talk with God and stay in dialogue
6. The Great Plan of God
We are to be his property.
Do you not understand? Or have you never heard? The LORD is the eternal God. He is the creator of the earth – even the most distant lands he has made. He neither grows tired nor weary. His wisdom is infinitely deep.
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:28 -31 (ESV)
Isaiah 40:28 -31 (ESV)
A part of a song
Carried on eagle's wings,
over the roaring sea of time,
carried on eagle's wings,
all the way into eternity.
Over mountains and valleys and dales,
ever higher to the heavenly height.
The wings are strong that carry me,
the wings on which I stand.
