1. The Zion Gate

This gate is one of the oldest gates of Jerusalem. It is the gate that leads to Mount Zion and to the place of the “first church.”
After the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans, there were seven synagogues and a Christian community on Mount Zion. The small community of God, as mentioned by Epiphanius. The church is a place with an open door. Everyone is welcome.



2. The Church Is the Assembly of the Saints
  • The church of the living God,
  • the ecclesia, the people who have been called out
What happens there?
  • People come into the presence of God
  • The welcome team stands at the entrance to the hall
  • “Welcome! God bless you”
  • God’s Word is proclaimed
  • God’s will is made known

I will give you thanks in the great assembly; among the throngs I will praise you. Psalm 35:18 (NIV)

3. Jesus Christ Is the Head of the Church

Alles hat Gott ihm zu Füßen gelegt und ihn, den höchsten Herrn, zum Haupt seiner Gemeinde gemacht. Sie ist sein Leib: Der Schöpfer und Vollender aller Dinge lebt in ihr mit seiner ganzen Fülle. Epheser 1,22-23 (HFA)


 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12 (NIV)

And every believer is a member of the Body of Christ. Everyone is needed.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)


4. The Golden Gate


It is the most important gate in Jerusalem, yet it is closed. It is regarded as the place where the promised Messiah will enter Jerusalem. It will be opened at the Lord’s return.

We are waiting for the coming of the Messiah.

Sadly, when He returns and this gate is opened, it will no longer be possible to use the other gates. Therefore, we must enter through the gates of repentance, friendship with God, and fellowship now.

Passing through the four main gates of Jerusalem makes us citizens of the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of peace.


5. Song: I Will Enter His Gates

Die Pflanzung und Verwurzelung
