One for all
For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. Hebrew 10:14 (ESV)
The greatest rescue mission of all time is initiated by a judicial error. None of Jesus' accusers have any idea that a matter foretold by God is taking its course here. In Isaiah 53 he is described as the suffering servant of God—and in Psalm 22, Jesus is associated with the crucifixion.
1. The Conviction
Jesus is brought before the high priest Caiaphas, interrogated, and condemned for blasphemy. He is handed over to the Roman authority. But Pilate initially sees no fault in him, yet gives in to the pressure of the crowd and condemns him to crucifixion. According to John 18 and 19
2. In our place
What is impossible from a human perspective, God does. He sent Jesus, His Son, into the world, who points us to the path of God's grace and absolves us from all injustice and sin.
It requires an innocent one, who knew no sin. Because there was not a single person among humans who qualified for this, God chose His Son.
Among the most significant in world history is that scripture:
“For God so loved the world,[9] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (ESV)
Let us become silent, thank God for this sacrifice, and follow Jesus with all our hearts.
Believing in Jesus and entrusting Him with our lives, who went to death for us, is wonderful. We want to hold on to the biblical promises and live consciously in the knowledge that we have a loving Father in heaven.
We find no fault in Him; this had to be confirmed not only in heaven but also on earth. Isaiah says:
But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 (ESV)
3. Be brave and confess your sins to God
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 (ESV)
Whoever has come to terms with the guilt of the past on this path is free for a new chapter of life.
Jesus Christ is God's great offer. Whoever accepts it has the precious treasure for time and eternity (Gerhard Bergmann).
Our salvation was only the beginning of a creative process in our lives, which will only be completed in eternity.
If you believe in the Son of God, who died on the cross for your sin, then you have eternal life. According to John 5:24a.
