Es ist dem Menschen bestimmt einmal zu sterben. Psalm 119,17+18 (LUT) Ein großes Heer der Syrer umzingelt in der Nacht die Stadt Dotan in Israel, wo sich Elisa aufhielt. Als Elisas Diener vor die Haustür trat, traut er seinen Augen nicht. Die Stadt war von einem großen Heer mit Pferden und Streitwagen eingeschlossen. Die Angst war groß. Elisa beruhigt ihn mit den Worten: "Auf unserer Seite steht ein noch größeres Heer". Dann betet er: "Herr öffne dem Diener die Augen". Das Wunderbarste geschieht: Der Diener sieht den ganzen Berg voll feuriger Rosse und Wagen die Elisa beschützten. Elisa betet wieder und der Herr schlägt das ganze Heer mit Blindheit und führt die Syrer mitten in die Hauptstadt Samaria. Elisa betet zum dritten Mal, da öffnet ihnen der Herr die Augen. When Elisha's servant came to the front door he couldn't believe his eyes: the city was surrounded by a large army with horses and chariots. The fear was great: Elisha reassures him with the words: there is an even larger army on our side, then he prays: “Lord, open the eyes of the servant.” The most wonderful thing happens: the servant sees the entire mountain full of fiery horses and chariots that protected Elisha. Jesaja berichtet über Gottes Wirken: Der HERR ist der einzige Gott. Er ist es, der den Himmel geschaffen hat. Er gab der Erde ihre Form und legte ihre Fundamente. Nicht als einsame Wüste hat er sie gebildet, sondern als Wohnraum für seine Geschöpfe. Dieser Gott spricht: »Ich bin der HERR, außer mir gibt es keinen Gott.
