From death to life

DE Deutsch EN English

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

John 5:24 (ESV)

1. From life to death

Known is the path we all must travel - from life to death

Death means something final for us humans. Man is destined to die one day. According to Hebrews 9:27

As long as people live, there is still hope

  • A sick person can get well,
  • Someone whose life is in danger can be saved
  • Someone who has had an accident can be rescued.

But once death has occurred, there is nothing more that can be done.

Every day we hear or read about people who often had to die far too early, sometimes due to circumstances that we couldn't understand. News in the press and television are full of relevant reports. Often from your own family - even your friends and acquaintances are not spared from it.

Some of my classmates are no longer alive. The question is, where will I spend eternity?

2. From death to life

And which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. 2.Timothy 1:10 (ESV)

A dramatic change of image. Apparently, moving from life to death is not only common but also quite easy. But from death to life? This turns everything we know on its head. How is something like this possible? Jesus, whom the Father sent, conquered death, God's Word confirms this.

Anyone who hears my word... better: anyone who listens to my word and does what Jesus says and puts their trust in God can enjoy eternal life today.

Life that is not as short of breath as the life that is advertised to us in advertising and society. Life that depends on constant change and investment and that ultimately leaves you hungry rather than full.

3. Fulfilled – meaningful – precious life

Jesus offers us fulfilled – meaningful – precious – eternal life.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.John 10:10 (ESV)

I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. John 10:28 (ESV)

In God we have one Lord to whom all power has been given. This Lord has become our friend in Jesus Christ. In him we have a helper for our lives; a burden-bearer in suffering; a victor over all limitations; a redeemer for guilt and sin; a comforter in tears and a hope in death.

He invites you today too. Come to HIM, listen to his word, and put all your trust in the one who sent HIM, the Father!
