Wishes for well being

Everyone knows the word wish and wishes, the meaning. Wishes accompany us from early childhood until the end of our lives. Depending on the phase of life, desires vary.

1. Wishes for a friend

John brother of James, a disciple of Jesus. He is the author of

  • Gospels of John
  • 3 letters of John
  • Book of Revelation

He writes a letter to Gaius:

Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul. 3 John:1-2 (ESV)

Verse 2 contains two requests for body and soul and a note that you are as healthy as your faith.

2. The human body

Our body is the organism that the soul and spirit inhabit. The connection between body, soul and spirit, which forms a complete unity, is wonderful. And together they are the subject of the divine sanctification powers.

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians  5:23 (ESV)

3. Our soul

This refers to the power that turns a body into a living life. The soul, the animating element in man, is always meant as a whole, including the body, then expressions such as refreshing the soul, preserving and protecting the soul of the saints become understandable. That shows too. When it is said that the soul thirsts, hungers, is filled by God.

Body and soul are not separation in the sense, but holistic togetherness. The soul is the organ of sensations and feelings.

she can

  • be sad
  • to be afflicted with anxiety or fear
  • become indignant and tormented
  • and also harbor desires

4. Our body is a trinity of body, soul and spirit

The soul is distinguished from the spirit, where the human spirit, as consideration, is the effective control force of thinking and decision-making. Skills such as memory, attention, language and logic. Consciousness allows us to consciously perceive ourselves. Johannes wishes his friend Gaius holistic well-being.

We humans have certainly all had the experience when our body falls ill and our soul and spirit suffer. This can be very painful.

5. Dear Gaius, that you are as healthy as you are in your faith

He writes: I was very happy when it was reported to me that you are faithful to God's truth. A testimony of active love, you stand up for your fellow human beings. I also heard that you are sincere and faithful in your faith. An entire community has affirmed your love for them all.
According to 3 John 1

This should also be our wish to those close to us. Well-being, body, soul and spirit, and a practicing faith.

6. Excerpt from a prayer by Ute Weiner (medical student)

You, O Lord, have designed everything about me so wonderfully. Man is amazing and full of little miracles! To you alone be my thanks!

What she thanks for:

  • My organism consists of 60 trillion cells
  • My heart beats about 75 times a minute, which is 100,000 beats a day
  • 5 liters of blood are transported every minute, 300 liters per hour, and 7200 liters of blood are transported every day.
  • All my blood vessels have a total length of 400,000 kilometers.
  • My brain contains more than 40 billion nerve cells that, if strung together, would be 500,000 kilometers long.

More impressive than all the wonderful processes in our body is your wonderful action on your creatures, which you recreate in love. Lord you are the real miracle. Your incarnation in your divinity and your unceasing love.

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.[1] Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. Psalm 139:14 (ESV)
